One possibility is something I call <em>Fire Drill<\/em>, about what happens when you&#8217;re mining the moon for nickel-iron and you hit gold. The other, hmmm, let me give you a hint: &#8220;Well, hello, Mr. Sangruse! How nice of you to drop in. Please stay awhile. My name is Oscar, and I am a&#8230;<em>beautiful<\/em>&#8230;thing.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/daylandoes.com\/facebook-like-scams\/\" target=\"_blank\">This is why I am very careful about &#8220;liking&#8221; things on Facebook<\/a>, particularly memes and idiotic quizzes like &#8220;What word for &#8216;moron&#8217; has two &#8216;o&#8217;s?&#8221; It&#8217;s all about helping somebody else make money. No thanks. (But yes thanks to Marty Coady for the link.)<\/li>\n<li>And <a href=\"http:\/\/petapixel.com\/2013\/04\/24\/like-farmers-profiting-by-hosting-stolen-photos-on-facebook\/\" target=\"_blank\">here&#8217;s another item about &#8220;like farming.&#8221;<\/a> If I don&#8217;t share that photo you&#8217;ve posted, it&#8217;s not just because I think that Facebook memes make you look like an idiot. (Most of them do.) It&#8217;s because you&#8217;ve basically sold yourself to someone you don&#8217;t even know. (Thanks to Julian Bucknall for the link.)<\/li>\n<li>From the Governments-Are-Idiots-Squared Department: The city of Provo Utah is going to sell its fiber-to-the-home network to Google&#8230;except that <a href=\"http:\/\/arstechnica.com\/business\/2013\/04\/provo-doesnt-know-where-its-fiber-is-google-makes-city-spend-500000-to-find-i\/\" target=\"_blank\">nobody kept any records of where the fiber is buried<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Cripes, guys. I don&#8217;t want to run out of energy, and neither do you. If you&#8217;re going to crap on nuclear power, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/magazine\/archive\/2013\/05\/what-if-we-never-run-out-of-oil\/309294\/\" target=\"_blank\">you&#8217;re gonna be stuck with hydrocarbons<\/a>. And they won&#8217;t run out anywhere near as soon as you think.
